That's the thing. I need to find out if e-logs are required. My T2000 requires it, but the Rand McNally ELD can't read the ECM, so I am in a twilight zone. My company went to e-logs in June, with RM, and it's been an issue for many drivers with trucks that RM can't handle. I would hate to discover I need to run e-logs on the WS beast and be in the same boat.

My company will allow drivers to use the Keep Truckin app to run their logs if the truck can't use the RM ELD.

According to what I read, the last fmcsa publication made the distinction that it's the engine manufacture date, so you are paper log bound my friend. I've been trying to talk my dad into selling his isx and swapping in an n14, series 60, or e model.

Great Wide hauls open deck and my hope is this truck will be a good match for what I do. Even if I have to bite the e-log ##### I would rather have a solid, reliable truck than get by with the T2000.

Great Wide pulls vans and reefers here in the South. What is the history on the engine? I wouldn't lose sleep over the two year sitting time frame. New filters, new fuel and fire it up. It looks like a good deal to me. No elog.

Last FMCSA publication says 1999 motor and older gets no e-log. Even if that motor is in a 2000 model chassis.

In my opinion, youve got a blessing and a beast right there.I bought my western star specifically so i could pull my 379 off of the oilfield. My w/s chews up those lease roads and likes it.Cant hurt that w/s.It's tough w/good ground clearance.
Nice move-in my opinion. And e-log free to boot.
Get used to smiling-cause you will be.
    Best of luck to ya!!!!!
