They are 20s sitting on 40' chass with spread axles.HalpinUout Thanks this.

And they ride like a pissed off bull.
@HalpinUout QC & Schneider both pull 40's, but they're only for domestic use. The 20'S are for international use and can be used domestically.HalpinUout and Cheezy_smile Thank this. -
That's no joke , you feel every curve and bump on the road. Had to be on the alert , I was happy when I hit I-70 in Ohio ,much easier on flatlands.ChicagoJohn Thanks this.

Boy, I thought Chicago Rails was bad with the amount of junk trucks you see... I was around the port of Savannah, Georgia yesterday and couldn't believe the amount of trucks that's literally falling apart in front of my eyes, duct taped together... I lost count of the trucks that was multicolored from being pieced together lol... It was terrible... I'm guessing the rates over there are terrible... Gotta be.

It's sad when you see how some drivers don't care about the equipment. But also has to do with rates being crappy. I overheard one of our brokers/dispatchers trying to convince a driver that 1.40 $ per mile is a really good rate.HalpinUout Thanks this.

I know, when I did local container work I couldn't believe the rates the O/O at the company I was at were making... I wouldn't even consider

I have been lucky so far , had more better than bad days. But I did have fee awful days where I wanted to leave and quit. My biggest problem is finding good 53' at CSX. It helps having hazmat and tanker endorsement. I do fair share of hazmat loads and they do pay decent for the most part. Some guys won't touch those.

Who are you with?

"Rates" vary a great deal, from company to company in Chicago.....you can tell the bottom feeders from the trucks they drive.....having said that, about a year ago there was a chance my family might move to South Florida, when I checked out the cartage rates from Miami all the way up to Jacksonville (running to Savanah) I was disgusted......In those markets $1,800 a week seemed to be considered "good".......HalpinUout and ChicagoJohn Thank this.
