You're right he "should" have a jumper box, BUT as I said it could be something else, Also, food for thought, what are you doing once he gets to you? Do you have a large enough spot at your place to unload it? If not are you prepared to pay a rollback at your end to get the vehicle to your house or your repair shop???

I don't have a lot of experience in car hauling but I do have experience in automotive industry. I will say that the seller taking pictures of the car actually being loaded and then immidetly professing that the car has a new battery makes me think the seller knows the car has some sort of key off electrical draw and is trying to cover their ###. Also who buys a new battery for a car they're about to sell? Was he just doing it out of the goodness of his heart? The cynic in me highly doubts it. I've been in the car game too long.

And a 25 year old Benz is bound to have some electrical gremlins. So before we roast the driver over coals we might wanna look at the other party that might have a much bigger alterior motive than a measly $200.

    Good luck.

I haul cars through Montway often when they are paying the right amount. Which you got a GREAT deal on. That driver should have enough intelligence to get that car off the trailer or he shouldn't be hauling cars. I would contact Montway about the situation, let them handle it. I have had a car actually have the starter get stuck engaged all the time unless I disconnected the battery. I contacted the receiving customer and broker let them know when it happened, yes it was an absolute pain to move it around especially after the starter stopped working all together. But it was my problem not the customer's. It was a 1957 and the customer was just glad to in loop about everything when it happened and was not charged extra. Your paying for the car to get to you not for stuff. You'll be responsible for getting it running again once he gets it to you and off the truck. Good luck.

What is a roll back fee? It would be nice if transport companies were more transparent.
Yes there is ample space where the car will be delivered. I have coordinated the pick up and delivery carefully with my broker up front. There was no mention of a roll back fee .

There wont be a roll back fee IF you have room for him to get it to where you want it del. But lets say that you live in a neighborhood with tight streets just like when he picked it up someone brought the car to him, if you were planning on meeting him at a Wal Mart lets say and driving it home, that cant happen as you cant drive it. The rollback fee isn't to your transporter, it is to a guy to come out and get your car from the transport truck to where you want to park it IF the transport truck cant get into that spot.

Sorry but two different scenarios altogether, one was priced and quoted as a no hassle running car, now it is a hassle inop car, that is why there are TWO different pricing scheduled in lanes for running or inop, hell even Central asks you if you will haul inop when you input your choices!
