Funny thing is most Walmart drivers left the companies you just listed to come here.

I am not at all pleased with the possible up coming changes. However I have made between a 106,000 and a 110,000 the past 4 years on a 5 day work week. If I loose my tractor can still go on a 6/3 make low 90s and still have 35 paid days off. Again not real happy to take a pay cut but still a easy job and good money.

Now with that being said I think they will hit us current drivers with a pay cut next. I also don't see the private fleet surviving for more then another 5 years.

    Just my 2 cents

Quick question. Would you have left your old job at the mentioned companies if you knew Walmart would shake things up like this? Or would you have stayed put. Thank You

The thing is , some WMT Drivers don't want to do "the-limbo" for Greg Smith and Walmart. Your calculations about making 90 k on a 6/3 would be accurate on current system. Neither you or I can say definitely what you can make when changes take effect. My money is on less earning potential. When you start thinking of all the WMT Drivers they want to put back on 5 Day work weeks versus their 4/4 , 5/5, 7/7, 3/2 schedule. I personally don't like sitting all day and doing nothing. I like moving around. The fact this job is " gravy" means nothing to me. Don't mind breaking a sweat . Pallet Jack. Etc. Ive met alot of good people here . Will miss them . But hey at least I got my Walmart Belt Buckle to show for it. Lmao

If I knew what I know now, I wouldn't of left my job in Freight for the uncertainty this place brings.

My feelings as well. Was steadily making 76-78k Delivering Fuel at old Job. The possibility of earning 100K at a STABLE! Company made me say what the heck. From my vantage point this second, is it was fun but not worth it.

What do you know now? Nothing, no one knows nothing other then they are making schedule changes. Doing away with set run and doubles will create more work. A year from now yes we will know if this is a place we still want to be or not.

I'm going to ride it out and see due to the time invested and money I'm still making along with 35 paid days off.
A year from now I may be ready to roll up out if here. But not going to do it based on a schedule change and speculation.

I think that's good advice grabber!
That's kind of where I stand also. I think that if you have a knee-jerk reaction and quit right now, you could have regrets later. Haste makes waste!!
There plans they have implemented may or may not work, and it wouldn't surprise me to see them reverse themselves on some of these things in the future. Walmart has to do what they think is in the best interest of the Company, for its long term outlook.

I understand all of that, but what made me sick was their idea of a cost of living increase. I'm worth more than 1% and certainly we all deserve to be paid better than through a bonus. It just feels so big OTRish.

I know Walmart is only growing at a rate on 1% annual growth. They can't afford to keep doing business as usual. This makeover is just beginning. Some guys stayed on Titanic til bitter end , some got the f off.

As long as the same people in Bentonville are in charge, I only see them coming back at us asking for more next year and not saying how much our sacrifices have helped turn things around.
