Loosing a lot of coolant but it's not leaking through a weep hole - but behind a weep hole on the engine. Any idea?

Right between the coolant filter and weep hole there is a bolt that you can see it's dripping from it. From what I can see there is a some kind of a pipe above it - looks like a pipe housing or so?

I was having a slight wetness just above that area (where the coolant filter plumbing goes into).

I changed the coolant filter ($20) - it was rusty on the outside - and the weeping/leak stopped. Maybe I had a clogged filter? It was not pretty inside either.

Your coolant filter looks old. Wanna try that first and see?

You should be changing your coolant filter every other oil change.

Those look like they haven't been changed in a few years.

I agree with you guys but coolant filter is dry like a gunpowder. Leak is coming from that place behind - what is that?

Im gonna do some plumbing on my truck before it gets too cold out.......
New Radiator/New Upper and Lower Stainless Coolant Tubes- new Heater Hoses and New Steel Heater pipe from the thermostat housing to the heater hose split

As for your leak- No Panic,,,Probably an easy fix- Remove Filter first- Inspect area closely-Clean area with some B/C...Remove things as they Get in your way to diagnose- Could be an O-Ring or seal

The filter may be dry (on the outside)...but the crap INSIDE may be restricting flow, which in turn, leads to a leak from somewhere nearby.

Just change the filter. Your truck will thank you.

FYI....the filter I posted above was there when I bought the truck, and from the records, it was there for over 100K miles (smdh). So much for "long life"

After changing it, the wetness around the mount & minor leak UP ABOVE in the plumbing area stopped

Replaced coolant filter but nothing changed. After mechanic inspected - coolant pump will have to be changed...
