Someone that worked here for a full year and has the numbers what is the difference between a one cent per mile increase compared to a one percent lump sum?

I’m guessing it is pretty close, but can’t back that up with facts.

    100k is 1K pay out.

If you run 120k miles in a year thats $1200

You're forgetting we also would get raises
    On activity pay. .

.50 cents on activity pay . The lack of raises on activity will add up quicker than the CPM raises.

At the end of all this , can anyone deny we're going backwards at WMT? Thats what I take from this . The music is not stopping yet, but it's slowing down for Fleet Drivers. Anyway you spin it, we are all affected in a negative way over last weeks meetings. You don't feel as certain of your future at Wally Land as you did last year do you.

Had my review with my gtm today. 15 set run guys are retiring as soon as they lose their runs. I guess we're looking to add 30 drivers. The guys who are in danger of losing their trucks are the new guys on 5/2s they'll be bumped off their dedicated trucks for sure, guys on current programs that aren't being done away with, will most likely stay on their current program. Per my gtm, AT OUR D.C. He'll know more once the models come in December. No one is getting demoted to a flex, He told me I should keep my 6/3, worst case 5/2,5/3, I'll keep my anniversary raises going forward, and vacation, the guys from my orientation class on the 5/2 will be hitting $105,000-$110,000 this year, their 1st. My buddy confirmed that as he's due to hit $106,000. I'll hit $84,000 on my 6/3. He said they just felt it was getting a little high for new guys, and even with the pay cut the new guys should still hit $80,000-$90,000 at our d.c. Their 1st year. Find a company in Iowa paying that out of the gate. (His words) no one will use the blue trucks, except the names on the door. I said I hate the new guys being paid less, and he agreed. But this is Bentonville's call. I'm guilty of an uniformed knee jerk reaction at 1st. He gave me the best advice, he said, if they closed their doors tomorrow, by working here, with my record, I'd be hired tomorrow. Hopefully that day never comes, we're in strange times, but until then, ride the gravy, earn and use the vacation, and cash the big checks. I'll do it, but I assured him I'll never keep my mouth shut when I have something to say. As for the new guys, I once only had 3 yrs experience, and I kept that going. They haven't lowered their standards, just their pay. Yes, some slip through the cracks, as of anywhere. I'll say this in closing, this is the 1st job in 26 years, that every night at, midnight, to 5 am I can say I was sleeping. Not running extra logbooks, sweating crossing a scale. Cookouts all the time. AND having the flexibility to take off to see my mom often as she hits the end of her life. You can't put a price on some things. They're not perfect here by far, but man, this is a gravy job. The oil fields will always be there waiting for me, or maybe Ashley furniture too. Ok, I'll get off my soap box, (actually I'm home drinking many Leinenkugel's Oktoberfest lagers). It all might end tomorrow. Hell, my buddy from high school blew a steer tire heading home from work last week, rolled over and was killed. 47, high school sweetheart and 3 kids left behind. Why would I leave now? If it ends in a yr, a yr and a day from now, I'd have another job. And so would almost every guy working here. Until then, I'm gonna burn all that vacation, enjoy cookouts, give everything I have while at work, forget about work while at home, and hope for the best, and prepare for the worst.

Not taking a direct pay cut YET per say. If I loose my assigned truck that's at least 15k

There we have it. No need to worry gang. Nothing really changes . I hope it's true, at least in Iowa. Opposite of what we were told by Greg Smith and GTM

    foggy Thanks this.
