I have dealt with that a few times with certain accounts that we have. Petco, Petsmart, Russell Stovers stores, etc... mostly its supply chain stuff that I either fill in for and deliver, or run regularly and it's just part of the account. I do get paid for doing it though, so it's not free labor. (May not be worth it on a hot summer, or cold winter day though!)![]()

Yeah,Of course flatbedders get paid to chain/strap a load, right ?
-
Well, sure.
We are expected to do certain duties in our job.
We are paid by the mile, but the companies know that we do certain things that are not paid for by a simple mileage rate.
Therefore they increase that rate to compensate us for those duties.
It all works out in the end.
The company can show that they are paying us a good wage, while we work for something slightly above minimum wage.
What could be a better business plan?
Except for the insurance industry, of course. -
You might work for slightly above minimum wage.
