Some flatbed outfits/divisions are more regional than coast to coast. I'd ask about that. I've done flatbed and really liked it, but was doing lots of west coast runs out of Nashville.
We would usually haul lumber out of Stockton,CA back to the east coast; deliver anywhere from Maine to Florida. Not all flatbed companies do that type of running, so if you want hard core long haul, ask the recruiter or some other drivers on Roehl threads what they're doing in the flatbed division.
