I never said it did,but does fall under the Vehicle Maintenance category of the CFRs
They do. They go after dangerous drivers who would overlook the little stuff. Plenty of those drivers running down South(Georgia,Florida,etc.).

You don't get it do you? That book is a "limitation" of extortion. Those are the boundaries that dot can play with. I'm fighting about what's in the book to begin with and the grey area it gives officers to do what they want.

I know what's in the book. That's why it irks me when I think about how petty most of this is and how many drivers are numb enough to say oh it's life give me more rules.

No; we need tighter restrictions to become class A, we need the motor public to be educated way more about us. We need to be treated like professionals not criminals. Certain equipment violations don't mean squat in the big picture of safety. THIS is what I'm against

Dangerous drivers is someone in an Audi going 85 in a 65 with his cell phone in his face. Not an owner operator from down south with oil seeping. Jeez! Are you brainwash

Look,I didn’t make the rules, you’re getting a major case of butthurt barking up the wrong tree. How you adapt to the constant changing rules is up to you. If you can’t deal it,maybe you should hand in your CDL and consider another profession.

Exactly. It’s because of issues such as running outdated and or defective equipment that gives DOT an excuse to breathe down our necks. And drivers like that ###### s*** up for the rest of us.

Look, I don't like your passive attitude about it all. You guys love to say, "people running junk", well you get over it, this is American, where a man can start at the bottom and work his way up.

So let me guess you got a 'newer' truck and have nothing but pleasant interaction with DOT, because of the way you 'adapt' to changing rules. Well it's going to be funny when DOT takes a big number 2 on your operation THEN you'll know what this is all about. Yes! I'm barking up the right tree, because it's people like you, with their passive attitudes, that allow the Feds to trample our industry with whatever cost burden, over reaching and unnecessary rules. You just say 'please give us more so I can adapt': this is what your attitude says in the real world.

It's funny when you have to make a decision to pay a couple thousand to fix a weeping real main seal, just because you want to be safe then sorry, then you get a level 1 inspection just for one of them to find something else and completely disregard all your other maintenance. Then you wonder why some people run 'junk', because a lot of people just don't care no more, the same way DOT does not care about safety, only the money

But maybe you can't comprehend all of this. If you want my CDL your gonna have to take it. I've fought to many battles to earn and keep mine... talking bout turn in CDL, people people people I tell you
