I saw nothing wrong with that post whatsoever it brought some of the old timers/members out of the woodwork. Members I never heard of and members who never had anything positive to add to this forum anyways.... bottom line a cb radio could and has saved people's lives.....

    Heard anything about these?
    PL-259-CPB-G Connector (In Bag)

They are kinda proud of them, maybe it's the bling.

I've never seen them although it's a fancy-looking crimp connector I try to stay away from crimped connections.

I’ve felt the same for years about crimp connectors. But this last spring I bought a good quality crimping tool and used it for installing BNC connectors, it worked great. Recently I replaced my coax at the house with RG 213, and i bought the correct size die tool for my crimper. I did solder the center pin, but crimped the shield of the coax to the pl259 crimp connectors. Then I put about 1 inch of 13mm heat shrink over the crimped part, especially on the outside connector that screws on the antenna. Looks professional and no loose connection according to my ohm meter.

    I like them....wonder if they'll take 1000+ watts?

I'd highly recommend solder connectors for high amperage situations

    mike5511 Thanks this.
