I went through the orientation at the end of october, had to come home because there is no personal vehicle parking at the terminal due to its size so I came home then had to ride the grey slow-hound bus back to the terminal. I went out with one driver who was a dedicated driver and he was a real piece of work and the most disgusting and racist person I have ever met. After being cussed out and threatened amongst other things I called my SDM who helped me off the truck at the terminal the same day. The trainer I have no is a good person and very easy to get along with I have picked up more about the company and the way things operate from him then this other ding dong. There are lots of bad trainers out there and lots of good ones too, if you do have to do a refresher which would be 70-140 hrs like me or 275-300 as a student dont get discouraged if your with a crappy trainer just call your SDM and they will help you. Just remember there is good and bad everywhere with any company. I have had no problems so far and have found Werner to be very supportive thus far. Good luck and be safe

yea i was scheduled to head out there on the 15th(today) but I think im gonna postpone it to probably early january....keep in mind i got pre approved way back in october .....the only reason i haven't left yet is because of this forum and all the Werner horror stories i hear( they really did a number on me)....but seeing you guys talk about going to orientation makes me wonder .....i think im gonna call them and set up a firm date

I am in the same boat has you I was prehired in June but heard to many bad things about Werner on here then I've been thinking about it and called them this morning and they told me to apply online then I can get a orientation set up the only thing I'm worried about is the 300 hours of training being with someone you dont know for that period of time I'll be going to orientation at there Phoenix, AZ terminal

I'm going to Allentown for orientation on April 12th 2010! I have a year and a half experience with another major carrier....Werner offered me a dedicated position, not for Dollar General or Family Dollar, Just a small factory about half a mile from my house. The recruiter said I will only pull loads for this dedicated????How true is this???? Also....why does werner have a few red trucks??

As for what the recruiter says being true, good luck with that. If you do get on a dedicated account in most cases that is what you will pull and nothing else. I work a dedicated account and have pulled a few loads that were not from the account when things were slow, but not enough to worry about.

If you can get on the account I would say you should be fine. If they are recruiting you for that account because of where you live you will probably be ok, but nothing is for sure until it happens. As for the color of the trucks werner has all colors of trucks now, no longer just the faded blue.
