Will you though? Really? Because 715 miles in an 11 hour shift is an average of 65 mph. An average. That's the max legal speed limit for trucks in some states. You just drive all over the place, never running into rush hour traffic, or construction zones or wrecks or bad weather or get on highways with stoplights and varying speed limits or encounter any of the dozens of things we have to deal with on a daily basis that would bring your average speed down? That almost sounds...... implausible
Been on Elogs for 3 weeks now.....

Since being on elogs these 3 weeks I’ve haven’t had a 700 mile day yet, but I’ve had like 10 days between 650-685. All these days I had anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour of driving time remainingTallJoe Thanks this.

700 miles in a day without speeding is legally possible but its not going to be most days and its certainly not going to be every day.

How about working more and making 1500 a week? Or getting back home quicker. I am not saying that you have to but if you could. Maybe there are folks who would, if they could. Ha? With e-logs or ...yeah the HOS limitations they won't ...they will sit and feed birds with crumbs at parking lots, or walk dogs. 10 hour break is not as bad as 14 and 70 hour limitations though.Last edited: Oct 18, 2017
Oxbow Thanks this. -
My average net each week is $3,000. It is about working smarter not working harder. People like to blame a computer or a tablet for their lack of understanding. When it is all said and done it's the choices that you make that will either cause you to succeed or fail it has nothing to do with hours of service and absolutely nothing to do with a little box.Lepton1 Thanks this.

My average was 500-550 miles a day. Over in the flat land i could do 600 - 650. 680 was pushing it. And usually involved locking that left door which i refuse to do.
Oxbow and Chasingthesky Thank this. -
WTH, elaborate! Left door.

Come on truckers and look past the moment and into the future, deals like this open the door for more over the top regs.

I dont get it either.
I will be on paper logs. I will charge a premium for paperlogs and a fee for tracking. -
So what you are saying is your going to make companies pay you more so you can stay on paper, and burn your books. Am I missing the point here.
Maybe the companies that knowingly us people who jump their books need to be held accountable too.
Not a big fan of elogs, or hos hours but it is what it is. I need an 1.5 a day extra to run my Omaha run from the West, if i had it I would get Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off. So I hit 56 to 60 on my 70 at about 2800 miles give are take, if hos rules could be relaxed a bit give us more drive time (taking in consideration wait times, rest period) I could make this trip legally and be one less truck on the road come the weekend start period.
Another thing it would save fuel, pretty much lay her out at 75 on I-80.
All this for roughly 5 extra hours a week that I need in running (active) over the 14 limit by up to .5 to 1.5 a day.Oxbow Thanks this.
