Any decent small Owner Op companies that doesn't use DAC report for O/O?

Even though it's more work for dot to check paper , they think elds are dumb , I've heard similar

 

1. they (scale masters) said they thought it was a ridiculous law to foist upon the industry. at the time they were fairly sure it would be shot down ultimately.

2. it will take more work to look at logs,than to look at a an eld that will say if any violations exist. i think they will take the latter,as it is easier,to fill any inspection quotas,over a guy in an older truck that overall looks like he keeps his stuff in check.

Even if your on paper logs, the gooberment still tracks you.

 

Let them make all the laws they wish. They don't enforce half of them anyway! I don't pay too much attention to what the gooberment chooses to do. I just do what I need to do, and keep a low profile. If there's an issue, I deal with it accordingly. I can assure you, on my list of things to worry over, the gooberment is near the bottom of that list. Call me an idiot if you wish, but I sleep well at night.

You know, I see on the news every week someone is on the streets protesting and screaming about whatever they think is wrong. I find it ridiculous. Hey, maybe it makes them feel like they're doing something good. But what are the results of their actions? Usually some politician gets in front of a microphone and pays some lip service. And nothing changes. So why bother?

My only request of the government is to be left alone. ELD's? For me nothing changes, just one less form to fill out at the end of the day. If a cranky cop wants to inspect my logs, it ain't gonna matter if it's digital or paper. He's gonna do his thing. And I'll do mine.



I believe this thread was in regards to the Holy Grail of idiocy, the almighty DAC report. What a joke that is! So I go work for a carrier, they don't like me, and fire me. Big friggin deal. I can assure you, I'll have another job in like ten minutes. Any carrier worth a grain of salt won't be hiring based off a #### report.

While we do not see eye to eye on the "why bother" attitude. I respect your view regardless. I feel we wouldn't a nation right now if the Founding Fathers thought that way in regards to Britain. We certainly have common ground on the DAC bs though as I wholeheartedly agree.

 

I guess my 'why bother' attitude comes from the thought that there's people all over the world that would love to have our 'problems' if you know what I mean. And trust me, if the doodoo hits the fan, I wouldn't hesitate to jump in and do my part.
