Where is everyone #5

Sorry to here that @Rugerfan. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your fiance'.

 

I hate the way things went down, I hope the staff is happy that's there's no one here to talk down to any new members looking for help.

 

It is a good bunch of people from all walks of life and everybody has something to contribute.

On the remodel front, my wife has been wanting a post and beam "wall" between the living and dining rooms in our project house. We're going to put a 38" long by 40-42" tall half wall on either side of the doorway. I had the timber framers come look yesterday and we discussed several options. Over the course of the discussion, I mentioned I had 2 6x12x104 pieces of white oak that I would like to use as posts, if I could. I don't have any other use for them except maybe some very heavy benches. He said they wouldn't look right with a douglass fir beam, but he would see what he had in the bone pile. Lo and behold, he has a 6x10 white oak beam that is 14' long (I need 13'4"). Tomorrow, I take the post material over to him and they're going to start making this structure up.
I'm thinking about putting a photo album together here somewhere. Just looking back, we've done more work than I thought we would.

Took the motor home over to the place my mom just bought across town to store it for the winter. Wouldn't you know it, as soon as I get the cover out and try to put it on the wind picks up. Ever try to hold the equivalent of a hot air balloon onto the ground? I should have done it early this morning instead of at noon.

 

What kind of motor home do you have?

 

An old one. It's '78 Ford Establishment. Has a 429 Police Interceptor in it. Only one I know of that has headers and glasspacks.

 

Cool! Lot better then this new junk they make. Walls so thin, you can cut em with a razorblade! Lol

 

They still trying, but they ain't got me yet.
