I was driving for SE for years and I'm trying out being an O/O for LS. I'm running into problems with being new to a company and managing agents. I know as a new driver you pretty much have to book from the LB but I'm running into issues with getting to my pickups and freight having no paperwork and pushing back my schedule, so I end up being thrown off for my drop off window because I time out. Any advice?

document the issue and let the broker know that you are not getting the paperwork with the loads and have to wait..

I tell agents I don't haul for regularly or don't know that I won't move till I get the load entered into the system and e-mailed to me .
That will speed them up and also confirm all info they tell you on the phone .
Just tell them the quicker they enter the load , the sooner I can go pick it up .
If I'm say 50 miles from pickup and they ask when can you pick it up , I'll tell them an hour after I get the e-mail confirmation

    Let's start with this question.

Are you taking loads off the load board or are they calling you?

If you are taking things off the load board, then they have to provide all the info but many don't because they don't have it, this is still a problem with ls not getting on the agents butts over lack of info. You should be taking to ls about this.

If they are offering it you, then ask for all the info right up front, then have them send you a confirmation, if anything differes, call them and tell them no.

Also just an FYI, get a peice of paper

Put on the top of that paper

    DO NOT HAUL

And start listing agents who you don't like and refuse to work with you on issues. Your list will get to be two pages. And stick to it.
