I’ve driven the same truck with a Detroit for the last 12 years. Yes, with the information you provided, you’ll be elog exempt under the new ruling. Good trucks, easy to work on and repair. Everything has it’s own wire, no canbus systems. Most unique parts will have to be ordered, unless you have a pre-buyout, WS dealer nearby. Then again, I imagine that’s true for most 18 year old trucks. Freightliner dealers hate looking up parts, because it’s in the old system with no pictures.
I’m selling mine, as #2 lost compression, and it needs more work than I want to do. It’s in the marketplace if anybody wants a cheap project. Good luck with your Star.

You still have a bead on this W/S, man? I sure would. In a heartbeat, if I did what you do.

Yeah, I hope to be back in OKC Saturday and spend a few hours with the truck, get dirty and crawl under it, and talk turkey with my mechanic/seller.G13Tomcat Thanks this.

I finally had a chance to spend an hour going over the truck. I will post photos later. The serial number plate is missing. At the bottom of the driver's side there are raised letters "MK XU DD". It is a 14.6 liter.
Rodent droppings are everywhere. On top of the engine, inside the cab, etc. Wiring and hoses need to be gone through thoroughly.
Air bags, bushings, and shocks all need replaced. Lots of items to be done to make it right. The interior likely needs to be stripped and sanitized. The driver's seat is cloth covered and seen the last of its days.
There's oil covering the undercarriage. It will need a steam clean. One area that seems to be a source is the power steering pump. I can't identify exactly the area on the engine on the passenger side that is leaking, somewhere behind the turbocharger.
Now I need time to digest the situation and make a decision.whoopNride Thanks this. -
Sounds like a pretty major project to get it where you want it to be.
Lepton1 Thanks this. -
By the way, any recommendations for a good place in OKC to get a Dyno?
-
Yep. Might need to stick with my T2000/Cummins pig for a while and keep looking.whoopNride Thanks this.

Those mice. Dirty little buggers. I pulled the headliner out of my W900 while I was stripping it and probably 10lbs of mouse #### came cascading out all over the dash. Buggers chewed up all the roof insulation and I actually found them nesting under my glove box in the dash.
Go through that truck with a fine-tooth comb. Those mice could be anywhere. A good filtered mask too. Don't want to breath in all that mouse ####.Lepton1 and whoopNride Thank this. -
They can really Ruin the wiring in a vehicle.
Lepton1 Thanks this.
