Swift Car Hauler

    I had no idea Swift used these type of car haulers. Pretty cool! Must be an owner op with Swift.

    Almost all those style of car haulers were originally Swift trucks. They also had a few Sterling enclosed car carriers.

    That was another one of Swifts better ideas. The big problem was Swift couldn't get drivers that could drive a regular truck without accidents, let alone these things.

    Cargo damage claims are a big deal in auto haul, and even though Swift is self insured, they were loosing money with the numerous claims and accidents.

    With the money lost in claims and lack of shippers that would trust a Swift driver to load a car without damaging it, the had to sell off the auto haulers. But, their was no takers. They couldn't give these things away. So, they started up a company, sold the trucks to the company, and then sold the company.
