On my first delivery I forgot to slide my tandems forward and my trailer scraped the corner of another trailer. I didn't have to get towed and the other trailer was fine but someone had to come out and fix my trailer. Than about 4months after that I was turning into shipper and receiver and ran over a boulder barrier and had to have the company's road assist fix the brake line on the trailer. Since than I haven't had anything happen I've been driving for about a year and two months. I'm ready to go home and find a local job I don't want to do OTR any more but I'm worried that no one will hire me because of those two things.
Help!! Will anyone hire me?

I know this might sound like a wild idea, but start sending some applications to prospective employers and find out yourself.
BUMBACLADWAR, tscottme, Chinatown and 7 others Thank this. -
Imo you may want to stay otr. It's even more risk on a local job and your probably not ready yet. Think about it because its a lot more skill involved running local. And if your not skilled enough you very well may end your career before it even begins.
blairandgretchen, Bean Jr., Moosetek13 and 1 other person Thank this. -
You're hirable, but the better paying companies probably won't hire you until those wrecks are 2 or 3 years behind you.
Where is your location? -
You will get hired, outfits are screaming for drivers depending on where you are at.

I would imagine that they want experienced drivers with few accidents/incidents. Local driving is much more intense than OTR, and requires more experience.
And I'm wondering how you can turn into a shipper and receiver at the same time? Was it the same rock at both?CleverNDGuy Thanks this. -
You can drive cable cars.

You might be ok since no tickets are involved, which means you have a clean MVR. The company you're with might hit your DAC report though, but still there's local companies that will hire you. Put in lots of applications and something will work out. You'd be surprised sometimes which companies will accept you.
