The internet truckstop added a new tool. Pintac is visual search tool that allows users to zero in on the availability and capacity of freight in a specified state going to a particular region. Do you guy think this tool is accurate? I uploaded a picture. Thanks dumb.png

That's new? I've had that for over 3 years...

As for accuracy, I cannot speak for numbers but I do find that the load to truck ratio accurate enough to judge on the fly my ability to get out of an area. And a high load to truck ratio does commonly lead to negotiating a better rate.

You're right, this is probably old. I recently started using this. I am thinking the ratio is probably correct. Thanks a lot for your reply.

I've seen 10 loads to 1 truck and the freight was moving for dirt cheap. No phone calls coming in on a posted truck in a 10 loads to 1 truck area means it sucks for rates to,the truck. Volume is a better indicator if the loads to truck ratio is any good. But if you don't watch volume in a certain area every single day you have no idea if a 1,000 available loads in a 100 mile radius is a trucks market or if it is a brokers market. It might be a 10 to,one load to truck but if the volume of 1,000 loads is either stagnant or even lower than normal that will be low rates for sure. Keep in mind there are plenty of carriers and trucks who don't post at all. And then you have the likes of TQL or Scot Lyn spam posting a single load 100 different ways.

I agree with you hundred percent. Most load boards are posted by brokers offering dirt cheap loads. I mostly take my loads from bigger carriers like Giltner trucking. Thanks for the info

It can be very misleading, but so can the load volume. Best way I found to gauge the market is by posted rates. also the load densities can be better indicator
