You own the truck and didn't know it had been deleted?
Ssgtkevin, Intothesunset, ronslam and 1 other person Thank this. -
What makes you think the delete caused engine failure?
-
Dd15 is known as oil pump orings failure causing to low oil pressure which cause engine damage.
401-Alex Thanks this. -
If the previous owner sold it to you without notice, he can be held liable for it. -
One of our guys deleted his DD16. Worked okay for about a year, then it cracked a liner. $38,000 later, just for the engine, he is so scared of it blowing up again that he has it up for sale.
Ssgtkevin, Andreybanyuk, Intothesunset and 2 others Thank this. -
Intothesunset Thanks this.

I'm assuming, but quite likely it's not not the DPF delete that hurts the engine. More likely the EGR got shut down as well.
EGR reduces the temperature during the combustion process. If EGR is deleted and the fuel management in the ECM is stI'll the same, you're asking for an internal meltdown.
