Broke Down 69...The Adventure Continues

Hard to believe that was 5-1/2 years ago. Man, how time flies!

 

Had carrots loaded in a similar manner. What a mess it made of the floor. Cost extra to get it washed out. lol

At least when you finally get those doors closed, the windows are clean and you are ready to Ride....

 

Fairly good. They had onsite scale as well.

 

I always hated bulk potatoes. Was such a pain to clean the trailer after. Then i got the bright idea to take a 5 ft piece of rebar and bend the end into an L shape for a handle. That made getting the crushed taters out of the floor groves a 5 minute job.

Bd, now that you are pulling a reefer you should get a 75 ft 3/8ths air hose with quick unions on each end. Then get a glad hand and blow tip with the make unions. Run the hose up through the front drain plug on the trailer and jump up in there to blow it out. Buy a pack of cheap dust masks. 1 10$ pack will last you all year. It really shaves down the time vs using a broom to clean the trailer.

 

My company will actually pay me 10 bucks if I have to do a sweep out. Truth is tho, I'm a really lazy person, and would rather do a wash out if needed. Lol

 

I did a load of pine chips a few years ago, pulling dry van for Swift. They used a conveyer belt like in the pictures posted earlier with potatoes, then delivery was opening the doors, backing up and unhooking the trailer and securing it to to the ramp that lifts it up to dump the contents out the back.

I swept that trailer best I could. Smelled real nice inside, but the pine resin 4' up the sidewalls might have made issues for the next driver after I dropped it at a Kmart to hook to a loaded trailer.
