I would say these fuel hauling jobs have fairly high driver turnover for the 3rd party carriers,at least where I am. the money isn’t there. example is $30 trip may take 2 hours, depending on time of day traffic etc. $18 an hour here is pretty decent pay.Last edited: Oct 24, 2017

At one time, when high sulfur Diesel was permitted in locomotives and off-road water pumps, the Diesel was colored Blue. Thankfully, that didn't last more then a few years. Not many tankers come with five compartments, except for the smaller single tank delivery trucks, which could have five of them, but four was more the case.
Av-Gas and Jet A are a different story since you can only haul one product with Av-Gas and it had to be gasoline, not D/F or Jet-A. Av-gas has to be loaded into compartments with former gasoline
or Av-Gas only. Most Jet-A was hauled by tankers that only hauled Jet-A, but you could haul Kerosene previously, if really needed, since Jet-Fuel is highly refined Kerosene for the most part.
Take it slow, gauge the tanks, know your tanker compartment sizes and you should do well. -
I don't know where you're driving but most all of the truck and trailers out west have 5 compartments. Two on the truck and three on the trailer. The companies here run truck and trailers because you can get the truck into most stations with this set up. You can also load more gallons on a truck and trailer. Where I was in Las Vegas we had the super truck and trailer but will still ran 5 compartments, just more gallons. The truck ran an 3 axle truck with a drop axle located right behind the battery boxes. Then the trailer was 4 axle that allowed us to load 12,450 gallons on the truck and trailer each load. If you were good it only took 20 minutes to unload.

Sounds like a bad company.
My company starts you at $22 and pays ot with no hourly pay cap. So if you stay you can make some good money after a few years.
I'd take it though I guess. You want to get into tanker ASAP if you want to be local and make money just get the experience and find somewhere better.RockinChair Thanks this. -
I’m either going to Vegas or kauai. My best friend lives in Vegas. -
If you don't mind which company is it -

[: Red=Regular. White was Mid-grade. Blue was Premium. Green was on-road clear Diesel. Yellow was off-road Diesel with the red colored dye for non taxation.
Color codes in Florida,
White is regular
Blue is mid grade or plus
Red is premium
Yellow is diesel
Orange is vapor -
I would say most trailers down here are 5 hole, 9000 gal.
Compartment 1-3000, 2-1500, 3-1000, 4-1000, 5-2500
