I think drivers with E-logs may be rushing more so they dont lose much of there driving time/On Duty Time so they make it to there stop without having to stop early

And do away with the medical cards and drug testing, and hire 16 yr olds burnouts and homeless drunks. It will pay the same as dressing up as the statue of Liberty and holding up those tax services signs on the sides of the roads.

The ELDs have ZERO to do with safety. Just like everything in the trucking business, It's all about the revenue they can swipe from Truck drivers and Companies. We have ZERO backing and support from each other.

It's only been 22 years since I got started with trucking. I started with an orange cabover, no cruise, no jakes, and an a/c system that was hot in the summer and cold in the winter. I navigated using a big fat Atlas and communicated with the family and scheduler by waiting in long lines for a phone booth to open up. I had a calling card so no quarters were necessary. The highest tech equipment I had in my truck was a Cobra 29LTD. All this for .20 cpm. There were just as many idiots on the road back then as there is now.

Sorry, supertruckers but I do not miss the "good old days". I love my modern truck and the modern tech that goes with it and there just isn't any looking back for me. If you're complaining about bad drivers then you need to address bad hiring practices and bad training. Most of what goes wrong out there on the roads are the result of bad decisions by the drivers. No amount of technology will fix that. Taking somebody who is a loser in life and then giving them two weeks training then expecting them to be successful truckers is unrealistic.

The standards for pilots hasn't gone down because of technology. The standards for doctors hasn't gone down because of technology. The standards for drivers shouldn't either. The problem with driving is that there are no standards.
