for 2 and a half long years i drove for crst. did what they asked. did what i was told. made it through the 8 month ########. my trainer was the ####. my dispatchers sucked. my codrivers sucked. after the contract i was determined to put crst to the test. i made air freight. constant loads. never sat. dropped and hooked everytime. the pay checks started comming in larger. always ontime if not early. the truck was beat to ####. but she ran. and she beat one of their automatic #####.....on I-10. but then they gave us the newest off the arrival line. governed at 70mph. this truck couldnt climb for ####. but once she was maxed she was out. i am from nyc. i cant be driving for a company where the ppl dont understand what its like to live in a big city and then be away from it for 2 months at a time. they dont care bout you or your problems all they worried about is their problems. the equipment, and cargo. thats it. they let me drive for them with no food in my stomach. refusing to advance me so that i may continue along safely.several times. dont get on their bad side...youll lose the mileage so fast youll be shakin cups for change at walmarts across this country. i love to drive. its the only thing i know im great at. besides sex ofcourse. haha. but seriously i dont love driving enough to be treated like a lower being. a peasant in their lil game of go trailer shopping. many complaints about this company. #### the ones i had was enough for me to decide that maybe it was time to go somewhere else. many complaints,so lil compliments. i mean they did help me get the license. i couldnt afford the schooling. and they did get my eastcoast ### out to california. ya just need to stick it through. suck it up and be a man. finish what you started and prosper. ya digg?!?! once the 8 months are up start looking around. youll never know what youll find. thank you for reading and if anybody have any questions and/or comments please feel free. happy motoring.

I keep saying. NEVER,NEVER, EVER no matter how hard the company begs. pleads, or pays you--do ANY kind of teaming unless you are related or married. Driving as a team, you want to know the other person as well as you possibly can. Facts of the matter are that these guys meet each other in driving school and then they decide after a month of knowing each other, to go team somewhere. If they still remain freinds after the first few weeks (or maybe even days)then I have to say that is pretty amazing! TEAM driving has brought many to all but killing the other over one reason or another. The best teams are married couples because all the money is going to the same place, and because of that and the fact that they usually trust each other and know each other well, they are usually pretty profitable both for the company and for themselves. Any of these companies will tell you that their best teams and their most profitable teams are the married ones.

I started my wonderful career at crst about 10 years ago, the only thing that I got from my time there was a great friend. Yes one of the people they teamed me with we are still good friends today when we did team there we made alot of money.
But Yes I suggest you stick out the remainder of your time before you jump ship if your record is clean you will benefit in the long run. Good luck too you.

CRST is the Golden King of the Bottom Feeders, but only a 8 month commitment.

The team rate is almost 1/2 of what a fair company pays however.

=there will always be people looking for fool's gold.

And some people will complain about getting paid when they spend more on toys than what they make. Then blame the company.

It is ILLEGAL not to let you opt out of PerDiem if you wish. Call your local IRS field agent and they will tell you that. They have to give you an option, or they cant offer it. In fact here is the statement right off of CRST's website under the benefits, I copied this at 9:44EST 11/17/2008
    _______________________________________________________________________________________
    Per Diem

The IRS provides for reductions in taxable earnings for over-the-road expenses incurred by drivers.

Participation in the program is voluntary. The program has increased the take home pay for many

drivers. Those that do not receive a benefit are elected out of the program, so they do not lose money

    __________________________________________________________________________________________

So Im not sure where you get the "fact" that you cant opt out.

.22 a mile split has to be the biggest rip off I have ever heard.

When I climbed into my first big truck I was with Conway TL and me and my buddy were getting .44 a mile split with a whole 10,000 miles experience hahahaha.

Ranger, you need to run away as fast as you can. Starvation for a license isn't a viable way to live. You could make more at McDonalds.

Since this thread is on the subject of CRST...you're gonna love this one. I just introduced myself to this forum yesterday as the proud mother of a trucker trainee. He got his CDL last week and CRST shipped him off to Oklahoma City to begin his "28 days". Apparently this company makes then fill out applications everywhere they go cuz the person in OK that went over his application decided he could not work for CRST. He told them the same thing in OK that he told them in Alabama...what gives?

Needless to say, they told him to hit the road. He went to the hotel, picked up his bags and called me. I just got back from wiring him a bus ticket back to Florida. He's feeling lower than anyone could feel right now but he'll be okay. Two days on a Greyhound outta do him some good and give him some thinking time.

So, any suggestions out there for a 33 yr old man with a newly aquired CDL and no hours? LOL CRST is unbelievable. :dontknow:
