CONVOY...my limited experience & observations

Yep figured that out and the result was sweet relief.

 

On an Android go to settings > notifications > Convoy.

these Convoy guys cancelled a load after couple hours of booking then posted $200 less on their load board. shame. try to avoid if possible

 

No worries there as I wouldn't agree to being tracked without charging a premium rate for such a luxury and I wouldn't agree to $40/hr detention either. I saw no mentioning of any sort of cancellation fees/TONU but I can only assume it's just as low.

 

As I found out the hard way, that detention is limited to 5 hours.

 

That's incredible. I wonder how they handle a situation where the Carrier decides he isn't going to stay after the first two hours or the low paid 5 hours have passed. I'd be taking it right back to the Shipper and billing Convoy for every penny and then some.

 

The only problem I’ve had with Convoy is collecting detention when it’s owed.

My solution is to just bid rediculously high so my rate makes it worth spending the day held up if need be.

I just squeezed $1750 out of them last week on 160 loaded miles into Brooklyn.

Had 12 hours on duty tied up and 325 total miles on that load including deadhead to and from the house.
