Im looking at maverick as a potential employer. They do a lot of work with a nearby glass company, Guardian in Geneva, NY. Being from NY we are required to have the metal coil endorsement. If I’m hired on for their glass division, is there a likelihood of ever needing to haul coil? Just wondering if it is something I should obtain before applying to make my application look better. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'm just curious. I haul coils in the Midwest, licensed in Illinois. We don't have coil endorsements. If I hauled in New York, would I get a ticket for not having the endorsement?

No, your only required to have the metal coil endorsement to haul coils in NY if you are licensed in NY.

Getting your M endorsement would be an good idea, most open deck companies would require it I expect. I have worked for 2 and they both required it. If you don't know securement for all types of freight study up because it is not just coils but all types of freight and the securement requirements.

If you think you know everything why ask any questions, do as you please and pay the consequenses then. He asked if he was required to have the M endorsement to haul coils in NY while he is licensed in Illinois, my answer is still correct.

You apparently have very little reading comprehension. You claim my answer to be wrong and then tell him the same thing I did. I am not the one trying to start an argument here.
