i know real world numbers and when i talk to flat bedders some of them telling me 4-5 per mile but when i ask about deadhead miles - lot of people don't count them
in my route i have very few empty miles at all , pretty much i start loading cars in 15-20 miles away from my drop off and work my way toward home

We shoot for 2per running mile but it's around 1.70 more often than not.

The biggest drawback with auto hauling is needing a dispatcher even for one truck. Self dispatch, driving, loading, unloading, ratesheets, all by yourself is illegal and dangerous. Elog will really hurt.
-
Why is self dispatch illegal?
-
Self dispatch is illegal when you are browing loads and driving, and calling on loads while driving. When i was hauling cars, filling up my truck usually take a few brokers and i wasted a lot of time finding loads.
-
You don't have to do that stuff while driving do you? So, not really illegal to "self dispatch" then. I have done some self dispatch and been totally legal.
