Where's the money?

the money is everywhere. ive held a class a over 8 years, all local, and made over 55k every year.

 

$1000 gross a week is starting pay for 1 year experience.
Most companies pay the same.
I took a pay cut to stay down south still grossing $1k a week as a company stiff.

 

If you one can make $1000 per 5/6 days, net income, or close to that anyway, that is about the best your going to get as a company stiff. I am sure there are a few exceptions to this rule but very exceptionional. I am happy with $1000 a week, I really am but I am just sick and tired of working 3 times more than I am home. I had a plan as an O/O, and still have that plan, but it is not working out. I am 4 mo's shy of my 50th and I am at a serious crossroads in my life.

The .41 cpm is what fools people. I was "taking home" over a thousand a week and only making .36 cpm. The accessorial pays and length of hauls make the difference.
Some companies such as West Side Transport have a guaranteed minimum paycheck where you can make more, but not less. Dozens of companies do this.
West Side Transport
Your level of Pay Commitment will be determined based on your experience at the time you're hired. A minimum weekly pay commitment usually ranges between $800 to $1100 per week. If you make less than your assigned amount, West Side Transport will make up the difference.

Hornady Transportation
MONROEVILLE, Ala. — Hornady Transportation, LLC., a Daseke company, is initiating a weekly minimum pay guarantee of $1,000 to company drivers. Already one of the highest-paying flatbed companies in the country, with pay up to 52 cents per mile for experienced drivers.

K&B Transportation - $1125 a week minimum.

 

When I'm home for a few days,the bank account drains rapidly...when I'm on the road..I just want to get back home.. I'm never happy...

 

Can I just ask what the hell is holding you back from getting a gig that can change your outlook on life?

Change your goals in life. After the age of 50, the clock speeds up.
Buy a condo in Las Vegas; pay it off; retire.
Personally, I don't want 5 acres of land in the country and a riding lawn mower. My HOA cuts the lawn where I live. All I have to do it water it, so I have a automatic sprinkler that does that for me. Set attainable goals and go for it. This isn't for everyone of course, but it works for me.
You seem like a good, decent guy. Take care of your health; don't stress out.

 

The money is there but the company you work for isn't passing it on to you so you might have better luck with a different company
