I applied for this company back in may of 2017 and was told by the Recuriting staff ( mainly Ben) that I would not have a problem getting 2500 miles or better... yes I know they tell you what you want to hear to get you there .. During orientation, the lady who did benefits, was rude when we asked questions. That should have been a sign to run then but I didn’t.... I kept asking for miles ( was only getting 1800-2000 a week ) they kept saying "ok" and that would be the end of the conversation. So I told them I was leaving and I brought back the truck to Nashville and they wouldn’t get me back home. I had to find my own way back to hickory nc ... their reason was cause I wasn’t an employee anymore. They owe me 3 weeks and instead of paying me by the miles I’m owed, they said I only get paid by the hours I log as long as it don’t exceed 40 hrs. So I lost close to $1000.00 dollars. So stay away from First Express out of Nashville Tennessee.... they are a bunch of crooks .... I have been talking to a lawyer and the Better Business Bureau
First express bad experience

BBB laughed at him as this isn't something they do.
A lawayer said here is what my retaining fees are, when you can afford them I'll be more than happy to take your money. -
Any driver that can't come up with the money for a Greyhound ticket needs to stay home and flip burgers. Trucking isn't for you. -
Bbb couldn't care less. Yes they'll take your complaint but won't get your money.
Companies really fear the labor board they don't want them digging around especially if you have a ligitement complaint. -
When I quitted, I turned the truck in at the terminal and found my own way home .
I even gave the company 5 hours notice that I was bringing the truck back and I was done.
But
That’s odd they don’t want to pay you your miles and want to pay you hourly.
Very odd, surely you worked over 40 hours per week -
