Exactly- Good Jobs (Union carriers-Private carriers,) Know that the whole PSP/CSR traps make no sense in a broad spectrum- Good Drivers should not be punished due to scores that may be out of their control.......
The Megas and all the ATA related carriers suckle on the nipples of anything and EVEREYTHING the Fmcsa and affiliates come up with- Whether they make sense or not

Most union carriers are members of the ata.
-
Are you sure about that? You may be right- IHave many friends with YRC and USF Holland- I'll ask them about that..
-
Pretty sure. This is an ATA press release and all those LTL companies are there;
ATA - Trucking Executives, Professional Drivers to Visit White Housespyder7723 and stayinback Thank this. -
Yep. Heck im pretty sure the union ltl company's are who founded the ata.Bean Jr. Thanks this.

Cali put me out of service for a bolt in the tire. 30 points. Nevada gave me a log violation. 30 points. 10 points times 3. Cali is long gone. Come Christmas time Nevada will be gone. I have 10 points for 7 more weeks.

For a 4 inch strap I was told 3/4 of an inch total. If you had 4 1/4" cuts it the entire strap you were in violation.
-
That is wrong. 4 separate cuts/snags/burrs/etc of 1/4 will only put the strap oos of they are in different areas across the strap. A 1/4 inch tear plus another 1/4 tear 5 feet up the strap but on the exact same position across the strap is only 1/4 inch of damage.Bean Jr. and Highway Sailor Thank this.
-
1/4 inch X 2. And i'd have to go with what @Highway Sailor said and the other poster that was told by utah. As; utah told me the same thing. 3/4 inches total.
Yep. I had to replace a strap right there at the port of entry. But it was just a conversation and not a ticket or csa. She came out and measured.Bean Jr. Thanks this. -
The 3/4 isn't in question. What I'm disagreeing with is how you guys are measuring. It's about the width of the strap. 2 cuts along the same portion width wise do not effect the structural integrity any more than 1 cut. A strap is made up of woven material, usually synthetic. Take 10 separate pieces of rope and weave them into 1 wide strape. Cutting one strand weakens the strap some, cutting that same strand in a different spot doesn't weaken the strap any more than it is already weakened. But cut a different rope and it now you only have the strength of 8. A strap is nothing but several 30 ft long strands woven together in a 4 inch wide piece.
Now this doesn't mean you won't get a dot officer that is wrong and wants to add two cuts in the same section together. Wet all know every office interprets the regs differently.Oxbow Thanks this.
