They're not interested in trucking. They bought "Otto" because they wanted the technology for their cars. They do plan on eventually having driverless taxis.

Hell, Google, who has been doing it for 10 years now, has barely gotten their cars reliable enough to get to 25MPH. It's going to be a long, long time before there is truly self driving truck that are more than toys.

Drivers have been doing that to themselves just fine without uber's help. They're just another broker offering not much of anything more different from any other broker out here. Quick pay with no fee? How exactly does that make them a game changer?
