The first thing that came to my mind when reading your background is:

So... He didn't use the word all in his sentence either.

All my input and experience on digital TV. The simple antenna's work the best.
I have the cheapest Radio Shack rabbit ears behind my TV now. Get everything broadcast local. PBS puts out the best signals. I had no good luck with amplified rabbit ears.
I imagine one of those wire twin lead antenna's meant for FM would work good. ??? Don't see why not.

    Shaggy76 and HD_Renegade Thank this.

Well I came in here to ask for recommendationsbut after reading the comments, it wouldn't matter if I had a $5 garage sale special or some $100 rig I bought off of a snake oil salesman. Until the tech improves, I guess interference is oneof those things you deal with (unless you park out in the middle of nowhere or have a tailgater installed and even those can lose signal) I get about the same reception with the built in and the flat one i borrowed from my mother in law. I was considering one of those "boxes" that go off of internet giving you pretty much all channels like a kody or firestick. But, if you don't have a hotspot, phone or device, no good. And if the service sucks where you park, same issue. When I go in for home time, I try to swing by Walmart and rummage through their discount movie bins.

Lots of those "unlimited data plans" limit hotspot data to 15 gig/month. After that. will throttle you down significantly.

So if you have a large screen phone or tablet [with cellular], it's better to view on that then hotspot to a laptop.

Or you could have att service. Discounted directvnow service. And stream phone to TV. Phone app doesn't count towards internet.
