You lost me. Why is 49k to much? Would you rather haul a smooth bore 3/4 full?

Take chocolate for example at 7.9 pounds per gallon. If hes loaded to 49k, thats 6,202 gallons. Pretty normal tank capacity.

 

180 gallon is even more. You've gotta couple thousand pounds of fuel for sure.

Same brand and model of tanker don't mean Jack. Unless they were made the same year at the same time with the same specs. Lots can change the weight, maybe the next year the company decided to add a couple baffles, maybe they switched to disc brakes or added lift axles etc etc. Extra hose trays......

 

I think they meant 180 total, so about 1260lbs. 7 lbs a gallon.

 

It'll also be easier on you if you show up to load with more fuel it will keep you from having to stop all the time to get a couple gallons of fuel. I've run across several shippers that will refuse to leave you room for fuel

Now with your current situation I would probably run with it depending on how far you've got to take it. A few hundred miles yeah a few thousand nope that load would be going on a diet

 

Doesn't none of the shippers have an onsite scale?

 

You going to trust a shippers scale? Lol.

 

No but at least he would get an idea of how heavy he is.

 

An idea could be 1000 either way. A certified "idea" would be better.

 

I've never had problems with onsite scale when I hauled petroleum but its still a general idea then rewighe at certified scale.
