I backed into a concrete barrier and busted a line going to my brake chamber on the trailer. I'm gonna see if TA/Petro can fix it... hopefully without replacing the whole Chamber. The elbow connector snapped off within.... hoping they can somehow clear it out to replace it..Since air isn't escaping is it the service app line??

that is a simple fix for anyone that has the new fitting all they have to do is remove the broken fitting from the chamber and the hose and reinstall i do these daily and takes about 5 minutes taking my time
-
I have basic tool kit but it's gonna take some power to get the broken piece out. Unless u got a trick??
-
Yup. Easy-out will have the broken piece out in about 15 seconds, then a new fitting and you're back on the road. Consider yourself lucky, though, because I've seen the threaded hole on the can break under similar circumstances, in which case you'd be looking at $30-50 and 30-45 minutes instead of $3-5 and 2-3 minutes.

Odds are that drivers not gonna have n easy out with him.....Chrissakes guys.
Ta will fix it for over 100 bucks in labor (Even tho its a 10 minute job)
if he has simple tools (Hammer, screwdrivers etc) The Only other thing I could think of to save a few bucks is Screw a bolt into the fitting and Hope to god it grabs that Cheap Brass and it follows it back out
Or Pound a Slotted screwdrivers wide enough that it grabs the Fitting,Then turn the screwdriver easy, easy with a wrench and hope it grabs the broke piece of fitting and ease it out
Yeah I know its Ghetto ,But I doubt he'll have an EasyOut kit with himTb0n3 Thanks this. -
Well I did an Easy In & Out at Carlisle Petro. They got to me right away... luckily! $117. Company didn't ask questions but we'll see in a few days if I get a call. I doubt it though, as long as I get it fixed. Plus I'm dropping this trailer in Cincinnati tomorrow and don't want another driver to worry about it. Thx for the replies and advice!
swaggerjacker and swaan Thank this. -
.7 hours to change that? I wish I could charge that all day on .2 jobs. Sheesh.
-
Things break from corrosion all the time. You found it during a post-trip after you were using excessive air, right???
Shaggy76 Thanks this. -
Me too. The shop supply charge always gets me. They itemize every single thing they use, then hit you in the head for more money for stuff they already overcharged you for.
