Whats your fuel cost per week and do you have an APU on your truck. Also, how many miles does your truck have? Finally, do you have a full gauge package or is it three on each side with a tach and speedo in the middle? One other thing; please list the specs for the truck.

It's spec'd company fleet. As most lease trucks are. If you've seen one JB truck. You've pretty much seen them all.

The reason I was asking about the mileage pay is JB Hunt calls me every week wanting me to lease on. A couple of months ago I called recruiting and they will not stop calling me!!!

LMAO...they used to do this to me.

When you seriously get tired of it. Drag the little B**** through his whole spiel. Then ask him about pending charges, when he ask what are the charges....3 counts -- distribution of a controlled substance.

I promise you...they will NOT call again.

sorry everyone that i havent posted for a while i havent been around any terminals or any places where i could get wifi. gonna get a laptop card soon. lol'
ok i actually have a pretty good complaint this time around. i was home for thanksgiving and was ready to roll with 11 hours available to drive. ok so no load, on friday and no load on saturday or sunday., ok fine, i can deal with no load being from west virginia and all. lol well got a load today (12-01-08) and went to pickup the load. well why i was pickking up the load my wife's sister ( which i helped raise since she was 9 ) was in an accident. ( head on collision with another car ) they gave her a chopper ride cause they didnt know how serious she was but she was in pretty bad shape. so i called in too dispatch and talked to my f/m ( fleet manager ) and was telling him what was going on. my f/m tells me that i needed to go to north carolina and del. the load. i tried to arrange a deal with him that i would deliver the load later on this week, but he didnt want to hear that he just wanted the load delivered. ( which was probably coming from a higher boss or someone ) so i informed him that i was going on to charleston to the hospital to check on her. i told my f/m that if he wanted to fire me he could but i was going down their to check on her! so i think i have made them mad which i dont really care either way cause family is family and they are the most important thing in my life and with most people......
so what your guy's and gal's oppinion on this and what would you have done on this? just curious? thnx for letting me rant and rave for a little while everyone:biggrin_2554:

You did a very unselfish thing to put family first. Let us know what they do, but with your great attitude, you will come out fine..

I just hung up the phone with a recruiter and they are still leasing owner operators at 65%, even from Florida. He said the fleet average weekly mileage is "about" 2700 miles per week and the average weekly revenue to the truck is "about" $4500 :biggrin_25526: If you believe that, I got some nice swamp land for sale down in the Okeefenokee! Anyone have any idea what the "real" weekly miles average and revenue might be???

Plus, if you leave and havent paid the truck off it is their's and you have nothing.

You lease THEIR truck to deliver THEIR freight(which at JB is nothing more than a rental of a worn out peice of junk), THEY charge you THEIR rates(which are ususally more than a bank will charge you)They give you THEIR loads, that pay THEIR price and then when you terminate the lease or ride it out til the end THEY take THEIR Truck back and YOU have nothing more than you got there with! Way to many THEYs and THEMs for me--no thank you! If I want to be a O/O, I will buy a truck and lease it on somewhere, no way would I fall for that sucker-lease at JB, not gonna happen!

The only difference in the company driver and the lease operators at JB is the lease drivers dont have to wait as long for their loads, they get the same crummy loads that the company drivers get from the same crummy places and they can turn down loads, but as a lease driver at JB, if you turn down a load--the next one they give you will not be as good. My experience as a company driver at JB and knowing quite few lease drivers while there, my wage was comparable to their's after all their expenses were taken out, they were only averaging about $.05 more a mile as a lease , than I was as a company driver. $6500 more a year on average as a lease driver and then putting up with the headache of being one, especially in tody's economy? No Thank You, I will be a company driver!
