I count six straps. What's the problem? Sure i would of tossed 8 but 6 is legal.

I think this type of thing is going to be alot more common, everybody will be trying to save time, all the time. Don't worry it's all in the name of safety.

Not saying it’s perfect, but it’s legal. You must not be an open decker. Again not saying I’d do it, but it looks legal.

Legal or not, I wouldn't drag that around behind me.

I would put at least 2 more straps on bottom, and 1 more in top.
I don't like the looks of it either, op.

    Mudguppy Thanks this.

Upon further review it isn't legal. Those are atleast 18 ft long. Need 1 more strap on the top bundle.

Personally i would of done it the exact same plus 1 more about a foot from both ends of the top bundle for 8 straps total.

If I loaded that it would have 11 straps, 4 on bottom front and back and 3 over the top.

    Over kill? You bet
    Will it move? Very doubtful

Actually, in my almost 20 years of driving, I pulled a box for all of about 6 months. So yeah, I have (and do currently) pulled an open deck or 10.
As to the load....I'm highly allegic to having a load shift at all, let alone leave the deck totally. So yeah, I will throw extra straps or steel, every time.
For those saying that it's legal....I'm guessing that the second strap within 5' of the first one is a new comcept?

I dunno. If I was pulling that I'd have at least 3 more on there......

This is an example of how I roll. HDPE (or whatever the stuff they use for drainage pipe- not metallic) pipe, with pipe stakes, and I have about 250% of minimum legally. Peace of mind is worth a couple extra drops of sweat, in my world anyway...
