My last pair of Redwings lasted 'til I knicked the toe with a chain saw while clearing brush. Still have 'em & wear 'em occasionally...just don't trust them to still be waterproof. Wasn't even steel toe, and I still have all of mine. Pair of Redwings before that I still have...just don't wear lace-ups anymore. They're probably 15 years old now. Look for "Made in USA" on the tag, though, because they aren't all still made here.

Kulien....Try em....they'll change your life

I'm currently wearing a pair i bought a good15 years ago. But had to get 2 sets of soles replaced in that time. Worn nearly every day except for the days they were at the redwing dealer getting new soles put on.
To all new buyers, make sure you get the made in usa models. Some models are made over seas and the quality is a lot lower. Spend more once or spend a little less many times. Also take the time to get fitted, don't just grab a pair of the shelf.GetonwithiT Thanks this. -
Haven't tried but have heard good reports from coworkers. Free catalog too.

Many job sites require a 8" laced boot and MidwestBoots has a great selection. I wear Blundstones, excellent quality and a slip on work boot for a guy who does not do actual work other than pinning up.GetonwithiT Thanks this.

I'm a fan of double H. American made and were comfortable from day 1.
GetonwithiT and Maj. Jackhole Thank this. -
I do plenty of "actual work" in slip-on boots. Hell, ain't laced a pair up in probably 4 or 5 years, and even then it was only on the coldest days when I wanted the insulation my old Redwings provided. Still get plenty of "actual work" done around the truck, house, and farm...even with slip-on boots.GetonwithiT, slim shady and spyder7723 Thank this.
