I hear ya.
Unfortunately someone in the big office in Tulsa must receive pure joy from sending me to Dallas Fort Worth every week.

Question for @1951 ford or @4mer trucker or anybody else with input. My brother is doing some remodeling and we worked on the subfloor today. We glued on top of the floor joists and screwed them down. We are going to put another subfloor on top of that to match existing floor, so would you put it down dry and attach it to the first one or would you add some glue to it? Thanks in advance!

Another slow day today. Got 5 hours.
cke, Oxbow, SAR and 1 other person Thank this. -
Always glue it unless you like squeaks. I use construction adhesive.
Unless you see a potential of needing to remove it in the future. I didn't glue my bathrooms because I knew at some point the vinyl tile would be replaced with concrete board and ceramic. -
He would be fine. I only use 5\8. You can add jack studs between the floor joists every two feet alot cheaper than sub floor if your concerned about it. I have some with 1\2 under my bar with Jack studs and I have had some pretty big girls dancing on the bar with no issues. There is tile in front and behind the bar and it's never cracked.
I assumed you were doubling it up to match a existing floor.Last edited: Nov 11, 2017

I do use the tounge and groove underlayment.... Looks like you just have regular plywood.

Correct. I forgot to say that in my original post so I'll go back and edit it.1951 ford, Oxbow, Logan76 and 1 other person Thank this.

That's big around my area "Advantech" they make tongue n groove subflooring, some type of roof underlayment that's similar: sposed to be the cats ### far as zero squeak floors.
