Will a hospital submit anything to the DOT about my hospital visit?

I'm confused. So people saw you fitshaced and instead of calling the cops they called an ambulance? You know that getting into an ambulance is not mandatory?

And then they take you to the hospital to dry you out?

You don't have anything to worry about unless you get pulled for a random but you sure got lucky.

 

Yes that is right. I was very drunk and parts leading up to the hospital were a blur. I remember telling someone I don't want an ambulance. I got an IV at some point and I was at the hospital for around 2 hours or so. I never got checked into a room, I was in the waiting area the whole time until I left.

I think going to jail for some kind if minor offense would be better and cheaper because I wasn't causing trouble. I was trying to walk to a spot where I could request an uber ride. I could barely walk.

I was drunk and doing fine all night, then I remember it hit me very hard and I was very ###### up. That's the point I started stumbling and knew I needed to request a ride to hotel.

 

I see. It sounds like you were annoying a bartender and got slipped a Mickey. At least you didn't get the bracelets for public intox or drunk and disorderly.

 

NO, they will NOT submit anything to the DOT. they would need a good reason to want your records (the DOT), as long as you were not involved in any DOT recordable crash with your truck, you are ok with your privacy.

Hair in your body is literally a chemical repository. A library of everything that ever impacted you from inside. It holds Pot residue for a year. If not more than that time if you are a very heavy user. Whatever you put into the body will retained by the hair. Big hair on your head or if you shave it and laugh, they will drop trou and get the small hair there. No more laughing then.

Whoever invented the hair test as a valid method of drug testing going back about a year if not more is a genius.

As far as the hospital.

You have HIPPA in your favor. They are not going to reveal anything to anyone without proper paperwork. Theoratically a company could attempt a summons against the hospital in terms of Federal Public Safety of some kind but Ive not heard of that.

You probably went to the hospital against your will. That requires someone to sign off for you What your wishes etc does not matter at all. That paper might get out and escape Hippa rules.

When you signed forms to join trucking, one of those forms might be a waiver against any medical provider so that they WILL provide information. If that's the case you are finished as soon they find out what's what.

If someone called the police on you and a report is made with your particulars, it will likely come up at some point in the future. And you will be done.

Basically Im over 8 pages for my guess. My position is very simple. You are supposed to be a professional drug free trucker and should have acted like it. But nope you got busted. And that's going to be the end of your time on the road a while before too long.

I actually never got more than 1 or 2 drinks per place and I was walking down the street where they served booze all over the place. I don't know if I was drugged or not.

I haven't got the medical bills yet, but going to jail for a small offense would probably be cheaper, haha!!

 

I'm a certified medical examiner, and do physicals for drivers. DOT doesn't require drug testing. If a drug test is performed at the same time as the physical, it's because the driver's employer requested it, not because it's necessary for DOT. If you get a drug test, separate and independent from the time you're getting a DOT physical, the drug test has nothing to do with getting your medical card.

People are Drunk 365 days a year in public and don't have a courtesy ambulance ride to a hospital, Unless they are doing some really horrible things for others to call.

It's hard to say yes or no for sure, it would be my guess that they won't, especially if they're not certified with the FMCSA to do physicals and report information. It's the certified medical examiner's responsibility doing a dot physical to be the gatekeeper for things like that.
