I'm currently in the military nearing retirement and would like to start truck driver training are there any schools that offer truck driver training on the weekends and maybe evenings?

Is this even a possibility? Or will I need to wait until I retire to start?

This is a long shot but if it's possible anyone aware of schools in my local area?.....I'm at Fort Stewart, Georgia near Savannah, Georgia and if there was a course available I could travel as far north as Atlanta....south to Jacksonville.....northeast to charleston if necessary.....

Most of the truck driving schools have weekend and night courses. However it does take a lot longer(usually about 3 to 4 months) to complete the class.

  4. I went to Shippers Choice here in Hampton VA on weekends. I used my Tuition Assistance. It cost me $300. I think it took me 3 months going 8 hours on Saturday and Sunday. I am not sure if they are in your area or not, but you can google them and look on their web site. I know they are an accredited school and you can use TA or the VA. If you have it available, use it. You deserve it. I did it in my last 5 months prior to retiring. The advantage is you do not have to worry about repaying a company for the school.
