I've got a pair of lace up composite toe Justin's right now, have had them just under a yr. Holding up very well and comfortable. Use to have Wolverines before, would recommend either...

Red wings for sure. That’s basically all ive ever worn. Just purchased another pair, regular no frills 8” tie up non insulated ( you don’t need it if you’re mostly in the truck) Another hint if you’re the kind that likes to keep the inside of your truck clean: smoother sole shoes track less junk in your cab. Another one is to attach a piece of carpet to your bottom step to wipe your feet off with.....happy “ tip trucking”

Whites Boots Spokane WA, if you have a tough time finding boots that not only fit well, have superior support a wide heel and the correct sole for your requirements, at least check their line of boots.
First off they are not cheap or inexpensive and are specific custom built to your feet, one boot at a time to the measurements you supply them whether you desire a 6 inch to a 20 inch shaft, hand drawn stitching, also they are lace ups, a natural high arch, with or without steel toe or hardened toe (saddle leather). And the best part, Whites will rebuild them when you destroy them.
I purchased mine May 1986, resole was done twice then 99% rebuilt in 2008, now ready for a resole. New soles include full leather from just below the foot bed, rebuild oak leather heel and replace the sole of your choice ribbed or Vibram® if desired.
LaCrosse boots are also excellent especially their subzero pack style if your going to work outside around the truck in extreme cold (below zero to minus 170*) otherwise you could find yourself sweating buckets.
Whatever your choice is, make sure to break them in and if you can afford it buy two pair to allow them to dry naturally, clean them regularly so to get the most out of them for your dollar.GetonwithiT and Maj. Jackhole Thank this. -
I prefer Redwings. Comfortable the first day! Just make sure the ones you get can be resoled. I bought a pair with the Vibram sole and that particular boot could not be resoled.

Timberland PRO Men's Rigmaster Wellington Work Shoe, search that on Amazon... $162, wore them in the oil fields. Very good boot.

I wear Wolverine Harrisons (the wheat/blonde ones without the goretex) and Timberland Pros. Both steel toes. Both are extremely comfortable, around $90, but they only last like 2 years before the toe becomes exposed. Have not tried red wings.

Justin. Both lace up and ropers.

A little tidbit of info. If you guys are like me, and seem to wear out the toe before the rest of the boot. Wal-Mart and just about any place you buy boots has a black compound that you can paint the toe, heel, sides, with it seal and protects the boot. My last boots I had over a year before I retired them for my current Irish setter pullover and the toes were never compromised. And 5 months of that boot were spent working in a shipping department kicking pallets and walking 10 miles a day. Not bad for a $10 purchase. I haven't done them to thos pair for vanity reasons
