Anybody get this petition?

I think Keep Truckin' emailed me that earlier today. Doesn't effect me since Canada already has a 16 hour shift window.

I received it today and sent one back stating "No Way and I won't be purchasing their product for supporting it".Ive have to spend sometimes 10 hours waiting to get loaded without proper compensation and the answer is to just extend my work day .How about a pettion to limit detenion that should have been in the ELD mandate to begin with...

 

Forget it. You can have all the hours in the world until your Judgement Day. It's the shippers and recievers who are falling down on unloading and loading you in a timely manner. Its costing drivers way too much "Up time" or awake time to get the freaking load on or off. No wonder they are tired when it's time to run that 11 hours overnight to morning appt.

This has been going on for years, I actually quit going to docks in favor of specialized drop and hook in specific loads.

 

you can change the hours and splits to whatever you can make up. and the same guys that were laying on their side in the ditch still will be laying on their side in the ditch. people should be able to work when they wanna work and sleep when they want to sleep.

what you're gonna see is hos violations go down,and crashes go up next year. but the goons at fmcsa are gonna point to the reduced hos and pat themselves on the backs and declare the law a great success.

we have a class of driver that can't handle the job. we have people that shouldn't have been given a CDL and we have a lot that need it revoked.

we have mega companies grooming these drivers for their .20cpm needs and giving them the license to drive. and fmcsa wonders what the problem is?

these laws aren't for safety. they are for a new breed of driver that has to be nannied down the road.

 

They should also get rid of the mandatory 30 min break

Just yesterday I waited 7 hours detention in kanned ### city for a Owens corning load

 

Why would anybody sign that petition? It just gives shippers and receivers more time to screw over drivers. It does nothing to solve the problem and actually makes it worse. Why does ‘KeepTruckin’ even have their nose in it? I responded with (Hell no) I won’t sign it.

 

I liked second portion of your comment. Why KT is started this? why? maybe they have close connection to fmcsa? data transferring and analyzing..
