    Ya that night crew there always seems to be faster than the crew for 8am appt. Called us at 7 30 to dock, and then return call at 9 30 to tell us we were unloaded and loaded. I'll take that lol

    Yeah, when my husband went through training he was told 66 would be achievable after a few months.. Been on his own almost 6 niw.. so he asked and they said the policy changed back to 1 yr around the time he went to school.

    That doesn't surprise me at all. I'm sure they are basing that, at least in part, on statistics. I get it. It can never be said that Millis isn't all about safety. 62 wouldn't have been an annoyance to me if I never had 66 to begin with. And honestly, 62 is kinda impressive for a company that trains. A lot of companies that train drivers start their new drivers out at 60 or lower, and pay less per mile. I can't imagine trying to pay bills in a situation like that, yikes.

    So, I went to the truck stop this morning to move my truck. This is unfortunately my normal routine to save a few bucks. While I was in the truck I checked my messages and saw a message from Dan regarding trailer pins. From what the message said he is getting lots of videos of guys having tandems slamming on the back bar. There's a reason why I always end my posts now with "check you pins". Fifth wheel and trailer tandems. I'm not saying it for my health. Not checking your pins can result IN YOUR DEATH. It's not a joke, man. While you're at it, check your hoses and pigtail as well. Stay alive to come home again. People are coming up with new and creative ways to mess with trucks. If you aren't paying attention, it can kill you. Or, at the very least, result in accident that will damage the future of your career.

    That's not for all of them, I guarantee you the new drivers aren't getting that. If you get passed by a Swift, it's probably an O/O

    Sj isn't there like a trick of after you park setting the trailer back and pulling forward slightly then set tractor brake putting pressure on the tandems I thought I heard that one time

    There aren't any tricks unless you have line locks or something along those lines. The easiest way to do it is using your eyes. It doesn't take long. In less than a minute, I can look at my trailer pin, my fifth wheel pin, my air lines, and my pigtail. I do that every single time I stop. Every time. Even If I haven't left my truck. And after checking, I do a tug test. I might be over-reacting, but so be it. You'll never see me in the accident report on the Qualcomm for something stupid. Noone is going to look out for you except for YOU. Don't forget that.

    What a day. I started driving at 2am leaving Rochester. I drove to Lodi OH where the co driver took over. He finished the 3 hrs to our final in Cincy, then got a load to White Hall IL (love this load) and we are currently 1hr from Springfield IL where we are stopping for the night, bout 1 hour away from final. So about 850miles today lol. Almost 15 hours on duty today. Im ready to tear up some Pizza Ranch, and head straight to bed!
