Hey I don't if I like that or not. But it bring up a question. When I see trucks going over the speed that other the truck around him/her are going, (here in the states)Most of the time it's a canada truck. I'v always wondard if they have the points system like here in the USA.

Can any one teach me something on the differance or if there is.

Is the talk show host on crack??

I mean really now. If you're going to cover a topic, such as speed limiters. What the hell does barometric pressure and blizzards have to do with it?

Or is it just the callers who are unable to follow the topic in a coherent manner?

Under NAFTA, OOIDA should file a complaint. It is one of the topics covered under the agreement. Operating on a equal playing field with the expectations of allowing a company to operate under the same terms in ALL 3 countries.

However, I feel they may lose this fight. Due to the 55 mph limits in some states, within the US.

Right now, it's a coin toss.

Well what goes around comes around . If EOBR's end up being required in the U.S. Canadian trucks entering the U.S. will be required to have them also .

You have to understand that these callers wait for weeks or months sometimes to get on the show. The Blind Spot talk show is: The most downloaded trucking related talk show on the internet.

It can be difficult to keep people on point, as they tend to have things from previous shows they would like to talk about. The long story short from this caller who I thought was very articulate is: That most drivers don't exceed the speed limits already in place due to, weather and the territorial limits already in place. In a very long way of saying speed limiters are being mandated for reasons other then stated!

You have to understand that this show is recorded live from my mobile studio, as I am a driver myself. I don't have a station manager or studio assistance. So I have to run the show live keeping the conversation moving, screen callers, and moderate the online chat room at the same time. I am doing the job of three people, which at times can be very difficult to keep running smooth.

I want to thank everyone on the board for listen to my show and posting your comments.

OOIDA is just an air bag................all they do is talk. Just look at their actions against DAC.

This trucking game is turning into something else. With all this stuff happening these days with them changing everything like the log books and etc. Anyone with lower then a college education won't even be able to drive a truck. Like when is enough ever gonna be enough?

I agree with that completely I would like a list of their accomplishments as well. They are great however at selling "services" to members, they have record profit reports from last year! Thank goodness there are newly formed non-profits that are on the way up, so things may look good in the future.

I am glad to see that US organizations are in the fight as well. I see this whole issue too big of an expense to enforce as law.

Because of the population and geographic area of the trucking industry it would take years and years for the industry to be totally compliant. This law cannot work with selected areas but must cover all countries, states and provinces of North America. I think it would be cheaper to hire more enforcement officers to enforce the speed laws already in place. I can drive from Montreal to Toronto and not see a single cop unless there is an accident. If the law enforcement would do their job we wouldn't have to go through all this BBS (Bureaucratic Bull Sh**).:biggrin_2552:
