If they do not want to endure the withdrawals...

Ive quit certain medicines that replicate heroin in it's effects on the body in the past, two months ago I needed a week in medical stay with additional medicines to preserve my heart and other body and mind systems. It was great. But very expensive. About 10K, 1300 of which is my problem.

I will be changing medicines to morphine MME (Morphine Metabolite Equivalent) when the new doctor comes up with the script. it will equal one to one instead of 10 to one. The Liver can generate the Morphine in the blood and keep it there until I eliminate it. It's easier than trying to hold a blood level of a partial synthetic heroin family opoid. which the liver now has to convert to a form of poison.

Its not easy to quit drugs, and its sometimes dangerous, you're absolutely right. I was just saying people are able to quit, change, and get better. It's not fair to keep everyone from a potentially rewarding career just because they had a wild past and SOME people don't quit. It doesn't make sense to me.

I agree if its been a yr since they touched anything. But recent no because so many quit just for one reason and that's for the hov they applied to.

Right. For everyone's safety, including their own, they should demonstrate abstinence. And the prospect of starting a career in trucking when they clean up can be a good motivator for them to help them through it. But if that door is closed to them, it's just going to make them depressed and make it harder.

Trucking is a unforgiving career.I'm all for second chances some could be the best drivers but companies don't wanna take that chance and one of many reasons why companies are having a hard time hiring and keeping drivers.
