I haul hazmat tanker and get green lights all the time.JimmyWells Thanks this.
-
Really? I was under the impression DOT was unable to do that for HAZMAT loads.

There are some states that If you're placarded, you have to pull into an open scale even with a green light, but otherwise, green light means hammer down.
I run up and down I-55 & 44 many times a week and almost all the "bottle" haulers have prepass.
But sometimes I'll go 2 months and only get green lights, then I'll go a month and only get red. One never knows why.JimmyWells Thanks this. -
Good to know, thanks.

This. and I think 10% is a pretty darn good percentage imo..... i suppose co.'s safety record is pretty good? i know friends who work for other companies (not large ones, but similar operations ..... they're brought in 99% of the time). at that point, just ditch the prepass lol.ChicagoJohn and JimmyWells Thank this.

I agree, but for me, I would keep for Indian turnpike through Oklahoma. Even with my KS PP I can run the right lane on 335 and 400.

The company I'm leased to has been running prepass for 12 or 13 yrs. I sure like it. The pay the bill on it too. I pull a lot of 20' with triaxle and spreads weighing 77-80k. The only scale that pisses me off is the SB Olathe KS on I35. I get red lighted probably 80%, even empty and bobtails. We have a good csa score too.

Some scales turn the prepass on & off. I cross 2 scales in IL just about every day. I'll go 3 months with only green lights, then a month with only red. I can't ever figure it out.
