    Jim,
I just now saw the message you left me on my profile page almost 2 years ago, lol.... I don't check in here often these days, but to answer your question, yes.... I'm still with Maverick.

Going on 9 years now, got my million safe miles.... Working on the next million now.

    I agree with this assessment.

Wife and I had enjoyed decent bonuses in the thousands signing on. Desperation has no place here, a Hubby and wife team is truly valuable and is worth the money to sign on. That money for us in exchange becomes a foundation so that no matter what happens to payroll such as happened on 9-11 (Eliminated the people and payroll in the towers... for 6 weeks until a new payroll could be found) is not going to stop that truck or us from rolling. We had million plus dollar loads out of McKesson in memphis so it's vital those medicines and narcotics are delivered.

There is a Maverick yard on 40 not far from me, I generally eyeball the rigs now and then as I do all of them any day Im out. Nothing but wrapped and secured presents. So I say jolly good to the outfit for consistency.

Im out of the big road medically and am black listed for steel flats out of indiana (They will not put that in writing, to do so will award me in millions at indiana court) but it's good to see decent outfits pay good wages and some piles of money to those that deserve it.

    No desperation here.

Great thread. Thanks. I’m waiting on a date for orientation. They said it may be after Christmas. I’m ready now. Lol I have enjoyed reading the experiences of others in thread. I’m pretty sure I’ve picked the right company to return to otr trucking after a 25 year absence from truck driving.
Looking forward to learning and meeting some of the folks in this thread.

You might recall that the holidays are a serious drag on freighting. You will be happy to be busy again once the hoo ha is over and done with everyone back to work in the first week of Jan.

Sorry I missed your post, The 18th of the month there is a .05 per mile pay raise for the glass and flatbed divisions. TCD got one not to long ago so they did not get one this time. Probably the delay is lining you up with an over the road instructor. Lots of guys take vacation this time of year. Maverick will not book you in for orientation unless they know they have an instructor ready for you. That way you are not just hanging out at the terminal waiting for one.....Home is a better place to wait!

I don't get by here as much as I used to either. But for anyone interested in Maverick this is a good place to start your research.
