Horgan and Trudeau do not care about truck drivers, if anything insurance and tolls will increase even more in BC with the removal of bridge tolls, they need to keep that steady cash flow in and I have a bad feeling truckers and other commerical drivers are going to feel the brunt of it.

The Ontario Trucking Association is Your Enemy
Truck News - Traitors of Trucking
Ontario Trucking Association Chairman David Carruth, Ontario Premier Doug Ford and Challenger Motor Freight Chairman Dan Einwechte conspire to screw Canadian truck drivers with Temporary Foreign Workers. -
Teamsters Respond to Ontario Trucking Association's Plot to Import Foreign Workers:
Teamsters Denounce Plan to Create Sweatshop on Wheels
“Trucking companies can’t move overseas, so they’re trying to bring cheap labour to Canada. This is nothing short of an attack on Canadian workers and the middle class,” said François Laporte, President of Teamsters Canada. “Instead of trying to suppress wage growth, the Ontario Trucking Association should be looking at ways to give truckers a big raise.”Canadianhauler21, 3noses, SteerTire and 1 other person Thank this. -
I would LOVE to move to Canada and drive a truck. Over 40 years experience, haz-mat and tanker experience. Also have driven in Canada which includes deliveries in Halifax to Edmonton (also made a delivery to Manic Cinq). Can read French and speak a little (badly), but my skills are not in a demand industry? Do they think Americans who would like to Canada are anarchists? Just wondering.

You are proposing moving from the United States to Canada - a country that allows trucking companies to import foreign workers for the sole purpose of driving down all Canadian truck drivers wages. You must enjoy low pay and increasingly dangerous working conditions. Just to be clear, we are talking about the Government of Canada inviting unskilled, unqualified, dangerous, third-world (primarily Punjab and the Philippines at the moment) workers to replace Canadian truck drivers. The reasons Canadian trucking companies love the foreign workers is because they can pay them less and make them drive dangerous, poorly-maintained equipment. The foreign workers are the next best thing to slaves. The foreign workers can be treated as if they have no employee rights whatsoever.
Let's also be clear that trucking anarchy in Canada is getting worse by the minute. Not only is the Canadian Temporary Foreign Worker Program working against Canadian truck drivers, there are very large numbers of Punjabi men entering Canada through loopholes to drive trucks in Canada. For example, there are 130,000 citizens of Punjab in Canada on fake student visas. It is possible that 129,999 of them are driving trucks (and none of them are qualified or experienced to do so). There are many and varied other back-door ways for Canadian trucking companies to acquire third-world replacements for Canadian truck drivers:
Kabaddi Players Mysteriously Vanish
You should also be aware that unlike the United States, Canada has no NHTSA or NTSB to investigate truck crashes. There is no Federal oversight of highway transportation in Canada and there is no Canadian Federal body to investigate highway crashes. It's bloody anarchy. -
Just because I drive a truck doesn't mean I'm stupid.Canadianhauler21 Thanks this. -
And, the Mods may delete my post for being anti PC. But so be it.
The people they are talking about are the very types of drivers featured on 20/20 back in the day. They are as dangerous as they come. They may not do drugs. But they do not give a #### about others on the road with them.
A quick glance at any BC truck running the I5 corridor in the states. Will quickly show you that they average a single trucking company for every square city block in Surrey and Abbotsford. And there’s no place to park!! How in the actual hell? Some may see that as an exaggeration. But I invite them to start paying attention.
A look in your mirror makes you question when you started pulling doubles. And then the cab pops out from behind your trailer. Literally on your DOT bumper.
I fully understand and support the Canadian drivers who are experiencing this onslaught. And wish them only the best.Phantom Trucker, gokiddogo and magoo68 Thank this. -
It is just as bad in Ontario. I feel less and less like this is my home...
