I wasn't suggesting you buy in Walmart let me know what brand you bought because I will be in the states in march and intend to buy a pair of steel toe capped work boots

These are pretty good for cold weather work.

My redwings are a year old and have a hole in the toe. I’ll wait until they start leaking and then get some Chippewas.

My old job paid for them so it’s not a big deal. I need new boots anyways. I don’t like steel toe but they made me get them.

Are you sure about that? I just bought a pair of redwings with vibram soles, and im currently getting my old pair of georgia's resoled with a vibram sole.
My resoler and boot salesman are the same mennonite.

Maybe its specific vibrams. But my redwings definitely look like they can be resoled.

Believe me I was looking to try and not spend that much either but most Brands that have good work boots and stand up to a beating for more then a year cost more then $100 so I figured I'd double that and not price myself out of great boots because of my ignorance to less known work boot brands..

You can put any sole on. I’ve had those slick sole red wings resoled with virbrams. Of course red wing never made that boot but the shoe dude doesn’t care as long as you pay him. Just go to a independent dude. Not redwing.

    GetonwithiT and Blackshack46 Thank this.

I dont, my boot guy is as independent as you get in todays world. He's mennonite, ill put a shout out the Leid's shoes and saddlery outside Kutztown, PA. The only place I go for boots, belts and resoles.
