Spent the afternoon cleaning the new truck up. It's amazing how some people can live in such dusty trucks..

Not right now, we may replace them after we side it next spring.
Actually, there was another new vinyl single window to the right of the double window this morning.
Long story short, I ordered the windows, 3 doubles and 2 singles (all custom sizes) the beginning of October. 4 weeks later, the 2 singles and 1 double show up. We put in the double window and a few days later, I get an email saying the rest are in. Back to Wichita we go one evening only to find 1 window came in, not both. As the kid is bringing it up, the shrink wrap is flapping in the breeze and 3 of 4 corner protectors are missing. It was gouged up and scuffed up. They basically pitched it in the back of the trailer and shipped it. The store boy told me that's not uncommon for this window company. I refused it and they ordered another window that evening, 2-3 week lead time is what I was told.
The next day, we start with the single windows. We got the first one in and as I'm "trimming" the outside, my buddy told me he couldn't unlock it to open it. I went and tried, and sure enough, one lock wasn't centered. Out to the garage and check the other one, same problem. Call the store and tell them I'm about ready to bring the rest back and cancel the order. He tells me they can re-order those 2. I asked how long.
    "4-6 weeks" he said.

"Now last night, it was 2-3 weeks".

"The guy last night told you wrong, I'm in charge of this area and they're still 4-6 weeks out. We can upgrade to the next level, through a different company, and they are 2-3 weeks out."

We cancel the first order(s) and go with the new company. I told him I'm not pulling the old ones out and boarding up my house until the new ones arrive. (Apparently, that wasn't true, see above picture). He told me to leave the one's in until the new windows arrive, then bring them back and exchange them.
Today I got another email saying my windows were in. So I pull the other ones out and go to Wichita. Imagine my surprise, and irritation, when they can't find my order. The boss typed in the order number and said,

"This is for the windows we cancelled."

The rest is kind of a blur at this point. Needless to say, the door and window boss and the store manager went home with a bit less ### than when they showed up this morning. Plus, the ETA has been pushed back to Dec 14 from Dec 2.

The window company I used to work for we had a seven day lead time. The price would scare you. They are in my house because I could buy them at a heavy discount. The french inswing I have in the shed is a 4k door....I paid 400. I built the machines that built the sash for my windows.

The new ones are crestline. The old ones were jeld wen. They were about half the price of pella. We had a pella shop here in So. Hutchinson, but they closed it down some years back and moved everything somewhere else.
